Asking kids to memorize thousands of spelling exceptions isn't working very well.It is much easier to teach the same process with 20 sounds in a simplified English! How are you adapting to larger class sizes due to budget constraints?	5 QUESTIONS 1 BREAKTHROUGHS	Larger Class Sizes I don't know what state you are in, but in CA it is against federal and state guidelines to mainstream without a collaborting special education teacher monitoring or co-teaching. You need to access your state's education code/policies and see where your district is in or out of compliance. Next check with your union's rules. Finding Funding Money for education is usually the first to be cut when budgets are tight. After years of budget cuts, how do you find the funds to support your classroom?	4 QUESTIONS 5 BREAKTHROUGHS	Laptop for special education students accommodations My students have many accommodations in the writing area. We have a old classroom computer, but the printer prints in another room in the school. Can't send kids down to get completed work, and I can't leave. So, I felt we needed a laptop with the ability to have Word on it so students could put incomplete work on a flashdrive to take home to do work. I used Donor'sChoose.org, and we achieved our goal in two months. I did give more than I should have, but we were so close and others were not donating any more.
